About Me
My name is Cassidy Quinn Brettler, and I live in Seattle, WA. At least, I've lived in Seattle most of my life... Now I'm a student at Emerson College in Boston, MA, but living in Los Angeles, CA for the summer! I love all 3 cities! In LA this summer, I'm interning at NBC News in Burbank, and taking an entertainment PR class. While I'm at school in Boston, I participate in a ton of extra-curricular activities - news shows, sports news shows, entertainment news shows, radio shows, sitcoms, soap operas, musicals -- basically anything you could imagine in the field of broadcasting and acting!
This past semester, I took the semester off from school, and covered the Vancouiver 2010 Olympics in Whistler, BC! I worked as an Olympic News Service Reporter at the Whistler Sliding Centre -- covering the luge, bobsled, and skeleton events. I created a blog about my experiences at the Olympics -- check out how my trip went!
Last summer I interned at KCPQ News (Q13) in Seattle. The internship was a great experience, as I learned a lot about how the real world of broadcast journalism works, and how I can succeed after I graduate. I also hosted a documentary for Seattle Opera called "Confessions of a First-Time Operagoer" - I was selected by thousands of online voters to blog and vlog about Seattle Opera's production of Wagner's Ring Cycle. I'm always looking for new opportunities - I'll try basically everything once! Once I graduate in a year, I will be looking for a job in the sports and news broadcasting world.
